hmm? how come only can EMC US HQ do bin file? My teammates are doing the bin files too but they are not EMCers ):

that's the procedure we were talking about. emc symmetrix configuration is not an open service, i.e. you're not allowed to do bin file even if you're able to, apart from a couple of authorized service agents or those who selling second hand.

Honestly, don't understand why EMC has this procedure because the customer should have the right to change the logical configuration (Bin File) to suit their need and EMC provide the service for hardware or software problem.

I am not sure if our company is the authorized service provider but my coworks do a lot of bin file stuff. By the way, we are not selling used EMC but providing EMC/IBM/HP/HDS professional service to our customers.
